Spain 2012
La Corona 043 22.07 N 008 23.74 W invited to a festival of tall ship regattas and swimming enthusiasts. The water was still to cold for recreational swimming.
MUXIA 043 06.391 N 009 12.858 W was a port to remember.
A paragraph from our book " The most unlikely sailors"
" Three rather large tapas platters were served to our table where two families from different cultures sat drinking Estrella beer and talking cheerfully avoiding the scorching sun under the red table umbrellas. There was a delightful range of seafood on display. There was octopus on potatoes, razor clams, baby squids, mussels with deep fried green peppers lightly coated in salt and a side order of delicious potato wedges. The traditional banquet went down a treat but there was one tradition we were not aware off! Carlos kept asking me "are you enjoying the peppers?" I always answered "yes" not thinking why. The bowl was quickly emptied and then Carlos asked again. "Did you enjoy them?" It was only then when I answered "am I missing something?" He declared that in every bowl of sweet peppers there is one hot pepper. Russian roulette! No one eating from our platter complained of eating a hot pepper. May be the kind chief didn't include it or forgot to include it. Whatever the theory, it wouldn't have mattered. It was a delightful meal with great company.
Thank you Carlos and Paloma!
